    Get-together party will be on Wednesday 6 May 2009 at the Agora campus. Welcoming address by Ms. Mari Kyllönen, Chair of Education and Culture Board, City of Jyväskylä.


    Workshop dinner on Thursday 7 May 2009 in the Survo Manor House.

    All delegates and accompanying persons are welcome to attend the get-together party and workshop dinner.

    Fee for accompanying person is 150 EUR. Extra fee for students is 50 EUR.

    Dressing code: Smart casual

    Walking distance from the Agora Campus: 2km

    The Survo mansion was built in 1879 by Otto Survo. The style of the manor house is empirical and it is in the line with the city’s architecture. The Survo family held the mansion till the year 1922. After that the owner of the Scauman plywood factory, Bruno Krook, held it with his daughters till the year 1954. From the year 1976 the city of Jyväskylä has owned the place. All the buildings are mainly from 19 th century.

    PRE AND POST TOURS

    In Jyväskylä all services are within walking distance and it’s easy to explore the Jyväskylä Region in depth using local buses, a taxi or one’s own car. Car hire in the region is also easily arranged. Pre or post tours will be arranged around Finland and neighboring countries on individual basis. In Finland tours to Helsinki Capital City, the Lake Land area or the Arctic Circle Lapland are good alternatives. Cruises to Stockholm, Medieval Tallinn and Imperial St. Petersburg are within easy reach as well.
